The American dream: to get rich quick. To some that happens to, but to many it doesn't. Could being richer be worse than
being poorer? Many would say "NO" to that question, but the answer just might be "YES." As the saying
goes, "The only two things certain in life are death and taxes." That's quite ironic considering a major factor
in the formation of America was the opressive taxes of the British. Every year on April 15, all Americans ante up to the table
and pay the numerous types of taxes that the government requires we pay. Seeing how much money people pay on tax day is astounding.
It's easy to see why many people say that the government will own most of our money by the time we die. It also doesn't help
that we have an idiotic president with his head up his - well, let's not get into that. America is supposed to be free. "Let
Freedom Ring" is a line to one of our national song. How can we have freedom when the government let's us have very little
of the money we own? As many immigrants come to the country in hope of a better life, they might be better off staying where
they are. Many call our country the country of dreams. Well, taxes is just another way in which the government shatters those
dreams.
