It seems politics have changed. Laws are more now than ever effecting things in our lives that Congress has no right to
encroach upon. First, abortion. If you don't know, Bush put a ban on partial-birth abortions. Thsi law isn't as cut-and-dry
as it may seem on paper. What I have to ask is what if there are health complications in birth? Since when are our children
the government's? Now I know that many people think that a fetus is living, and I'm not even going to get into that. I belive
that parents should be able to choose, and that would end all this controversy. Second, same-sex marriage. This is completely
obsurd. Frankly, there is no basis for this ban than the President's own moral values. It isn't like same-sex marriages are
hurting anyone. We are taking these people, who already get all sorts of criticizem for something that, for the most part
is not their fault, and taking another of their rights away just because of the way we are. What next? Are we going to ban
marriages on blacks or hispanics? There is just as much prejudice in that than there is in banning gay marriage.
Readers of this page, this government needs to be stopped. They are creating laws on morals and not on the difference
between right and wrong. If we don't stop this now, the government could make any law that they want. Whether it be a law
saying you have to drive a certain car to a law saying you have to dress a certain way. This is all happening in a country
where the basis is on originality.
