The grand old country of America prides itself on many things: baseball, apple pie, Oprah. But, one thing that is not on that
list is racism. The fact is, America is racist, and nobody can stop it.
When the word "racist" is mentioned in a room full of crowded people, quite a reaction occurs. Everyone scrambles
to the far reaches of the room, babies cry, and pecan pie stops being delicious. Okay...I made that last one up, but you get
my point. Nobody wants to be labeled as racist, especially the country as a whole.
Yet, Americans find themselves time and time again doing subconsious things that can portray them as racist. For instance,
an old lady, let's call her Bertha, was walking down the side of a street to pick up a pie at the local bakery called "Mama
Mia, That's Good!". Thinking about the pie, Bertha was hardly paying attention to where she was going until a large African
American man appeared in front of her. Bertha, not wanting to get whacked by the Bloods, decided to cross the street to continue
her lesiurely walk. The man actually ended up being the Baptist priest, Al Sharpton.
That may sound very far fetched, but, the truth is, it isn't. America is afraid of change. That explains why the entire
country gets its panties in a bunch every four years for an election. When I was watching the news, as I always do, I saw
that there was apprehension to hand several ports' management to an Arab-run company. I was enraged, well not really, but
I was really mad.
America is run on a capitalist economy. Thus the government has very little control about what businesses do. Not allowing
this company to run the ports is purely defying that principle. The only reason for this little "broo-ha-ha" would
be racism. Coincidence? I think not.
So, is racism the cause of every problem is America? Of course not. The thing is, without those races that have been targeted,
there would be no Jackson Five, Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, or that man we love so much to make fun of, Saddam Hussein.
And, let's face it, a world without them would be a world not worth living in.
