You're a Racist Girl in a Racist World

Could a warm Earth make humans the next species out?

The dodos thought they were safe, and look what happened to them.

The human race is bad. We gamble, do drugs, and, most importantly, we pollute. I know what you are saying: "Pollution isn't so bad, is it?" Well, yes, yes it is.

You see, the main source of pollution in the world is from the burning of fossil fuels in vehicles. The exhaust is loaded with CO2 (that's carbon dioxide, you science fool). Anyway, the cars, they emit that. And, when the CO2 goes up into the atmosphere, it is trapped...meaning, it can't go anywhere.

So, like a fat guy at an all-you-can-eat buffet, it stays. Carbon dioxide by itself is not that harmful to the human race. But, it's not the gas itself that is the issue; it's what's it's doing. You see, carbon dioxide, along with other gases, are known as greenhouse gases which trap heat within the atmosphere.

You're probably thinking that you would like it a little warmer anyway. Well, there are two people that don't like it, and they're name are the same: the polar ice caps. They are melting at alarmingly fast rates. That water is cause about an inch of coast line to be lost each every couple of years. So, you and I won't be seeing the immediate results of this, but our children will.

With all of the extra water, the coastal cities will flood, much light the alleged Atlantis. Of cousre, there still will be water left, just less of it. They will just have to go to the beach in Kansas, that's all.

Then comes the question of the survival of the fittest. Climates have changed before, wiping off many different species. Could the human species be next? I think it is a very good possibility.

While a future with birds or sharks ruling the world may be a bit far fetched, the human race as we know it today, with the most advanced civilization on Earth, may be slowly coming to an end.

Now, I didn't write this with the intent to scare anyone or, in the words of someone cooler than me, "totally bum you out", but I did write this as a warning. It is a warning that if the human race doesn't stop and look at what they've done to their environment, there could be dire consequences. And, perhaps, one of those consequences could be extinction.
